Creating momentum and taking charge of the future requires clarity and unity of purpose. In a large group or organization this does not emerge spontaneously; common understanding and commitment to action must be cultivated and sustained. The big.small.all project will define a future direction for Champaign County that is clear, compelling and widely shared.
In 1976, a similar visioning initiative took place. It was called the Town Meeting for Tomorrow. Those discussions helped lay the foundation for creating the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation and the Champaign County Health Department, as well as an advanced new terminal at Willard Airport that brought new airlines and new opportunities to the greater Champaign County community.
So what new ideas will come out of this project? That's largely up to you. It could be a new public service, the preservation of a treasured landmark or the start of major regional initiative that creates jobs while building a better community.
